Educated in Melbourne, Australia, Cate Buck worked as an RN in several major teaching hospitals. Upon completing her obstetrics studies, she relocated from the city to serve as an RN in a distant rural hospital, frequently transitioning from delivering babies to aiding local medics in field rescue efforts. Changing gears she was drawn to work in a newly established prison serving 600 inmates. Creating a medical facility from scratch, the correctional and nursing personnel collaborated with commitment and teamwork, turning a vacant area into a fully functional infirmary.
Cate’s journey at TGTHR began in 2019 when she joined The Source as Direct Care Staff. Not a single day passed without her feeling deeply humbled and honored to support youth facing tough situations, often returning home to reflect on the valuable lessons they had taught her. Currently, Cate serves as the Case Manager at The Source Drop-in Center, providing a pivotal link between youth and vital resources, including housing, mental health services, employment, and education. She actively participates in outreach efforts, delivering essential supplies and offering remote case management to connect with young individuals experiencing homelessness. Cate relishes in family time, exploring Colorado’s outdoors, honing in on her DBT skills, and never passing up a chance to play a comedic board game.
