Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Rachel Coates moved to Colorado at a young age and considers the colorful state her home. She studied psychology at the University of Colorado Boulder with a focus on Clinical Psychology, Child Development, and Social Work. Before joining TGTHR, Rachel worked at CREST Labs at CU Boulder, a part of Renée Crown Wellness Institute. There she researched Postpartum Depression, an outreach program for underserved families, and a peer mentoring program for new mothers. Switching gears from clinical work to social work, Rachel has always had a passion for working with young people and helping them realize their full potential. As the Case Manager for The Source, Rachel is responsible for developing transition plans for the youth that enter the program through behaviorism and trauma informed care. She helps connect the young people at The Source to resources such as education, employment, and housing while developing key life skills that will help them towards a bright future.
