The Source Drop-In Resource Center

The Source provides a safe, welcoming environment for all individuals between the ages of 12-24, with the goal of moving young people from unstable situations to safety and self-sufficiency.

At the Source Drop-In Center, young people can stop in any day to receive food, showers, laundry services, clean clothing, and access to medical care. We also provide additional resources and support to assist individuals with their goals around housing, employment, and education.

Youth Overnight Shelter

The Source Overnight Shelter in Boulder is available for up to 16 young people between the ages of 12-21. It opens at 5:00 PM every night.

Chase House provides a safe group home environment for youth between ages 12-18 who have been placed by the state due to family disruption.

If you are between the ages of 12-24 and need support, you can go to The Source at 3080 Broadway Boulder, CO any day between 12:30-5:00 PM.

The Source Drop-In Center is available to all young people between the ages of 12 through 24.

When a program participant turns 25, they unfortunately are not longer eligible for drop-in services at The Source. Our Case Managers’ goal is to work with each young person individually to ensure they are prepared to transition to independence before their 25th birthday. This includes supporting them with financial planning/budgeting, employment goals, mental health concerns, and more.

The Source offers an overnight shelter for 12-21-year-olds. If you are interested in a bed, please talk to staff at the Drop-In Center.

For permanent housing options, please talk to a Case Manager at The Source Drop-In Center any day between 12:30-5:00 PM.

All program participants at The Source Drop-In Center are expected to follow set rules and protocols, in addition to TGTHR’s code of conduct, to ensure a safe environment for all. At the Drop-In Center, participants are not required to participate in services. There are different expectations in each of TGTHR’s programs.

Drop-In Center Volunteer Duties

  • Provide support to staff such as help with meals, light cleaning or organizing.
  • Build rapport and healthy boundaries with clients.
  • Demonstrate positive role model skills.
  • Assist with homework and tutoring.
  • Participate in activities with youth (board games, art, basketball, guitar, rec center, hikes, etc.).

Drop-In Center Volunteer Requirements

  • Must be 21 years old.
  • Must pass an interview, background check, and fingerprinting process. ($40)
  • Attend a volunteer orientation and training on boundaries, trauma-informed care, and more.
  • Must commit to a weekly shift.
