Two 1440 Pine tenants, Kenyanna and Montii, bravely shared their experiences being young, black, and unhoused in the Boulder area, and talked openly about their time at TGTHR. “I was thrilled to see them have the opportunity to elevate their voices on such a well-known platform,” says Breona Byrd, TGTHR’s Youth Leadership Development Coordinator.
TGTHR staffers Breona Byrd and Cidnee Ray, who also serve on TGTHR’s JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) Committee, also participated in the discussion. Kenyanna and Montii were able to speak on obstacles and challenges they have personally faced and mentioned at the end that it was comforting to have that safe space to talk about race-related experiences. They are both looking forward to doing a part 2 if the opportunity arise
