(JEDI): JUSTICE, EQUITY, DIVERSITY, AND INCLUSION
At the core, ending youth homelessness is a cause rooted deeply in justice.
in 2022:
JEDI GOALS
- Build an organization that is diverse & inclusive
- Enhance internal processes, policies, & procedures
- Strengthen youth representation
- Enhance diversity in board leadership
- Enhance anti-oppression education & training
TGTHR VALUES
- We believe growth is rooted in relationships.
- We believe in wildly celebrating resilience.
- We believe there is strength in diversity.
- We believe in promoting youth voices.
- We believe that housing is a fundamental right.
TGTHR understands that wellness, safety and prosperity cannot exist for individuals or communities without actively dismantling oppressive structures within our organization and greater communities. Moreover, it is essential to elevate the voices of youth who experience homelessness, who too often are marginalized in systems.
In order to take on the structural inequities we face as a society, we must take a systems level approach. For TGTHR, this means engaging in every aspect of our work through a JEDI lens – from service delivery, to continuing to foster a culture of inclusion and belonging, to strengthening our efforts to diversify our staff. TGTHR is committed to igniting and implementing lasting structural change within our organization and beyond.
In 2022, TGTHR’s JEDI Committee has helped facilitate progress toward becoming a more inclusive, diverse, and equitable organization:

OUR COMMITMENT
At TGTHR, we ask that all of our employees and board of directors make a commitment to continued education of social justice, especially the intersection of youth homelessness and race, gender, sexuality, ability, immigration, and socioeconomics. We know that justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) work is an ongoing process that requires self-reflection, accountability, and consistent attention. For this reason, we formed a JEDI Committee that will advance and ensure justice, equity, diversity and inclusion within TGTHR and its communities.
