About Street Outreach
TGTHR operates a Street Outreach program, where we are on the street 5 days a week, connecting youth and other people experiencing homelessness with our services and services in the greater community. The goal is to build relationships with young people living on the streets so they feel safe to enter our programs. TGTHR’s Street Outreach Team is often the first point of contact for young people accessing our services. Our Street Outreach Team consists of our Street Outreach Manager and two trained volunteers.
Street Outreach volunteer Duties & Requirements
- Must be able to walk around for a full two hour shift in all weather types.
- Must be 21 years old.
- Must pass an interview, background check, and fingerprinting process. ($40)
- Attend a 1 hour orientation and a 1 hour training on boundaries, trauma informed care and more.
- Must commit to a weekly 2 hour long shift Monday-Friday between 9am-5pm. Exceptions include substitute Street Outreach volunteers.
