Mid-Year Checkup & CEO Updates - TGTHR

Mid-Year Checkup & CEO Updates

THANK YOU TO OUR COMMUNITY FOR YOUR ONGOING SUPPORT DURING THESE TIMES!

Dear TGTHR Community,

As spring unfolds around us, I can’t help but see the parallels to the work we do at TGTHR—fostering growth and possibility, even in less-than-perfect conditions. This season has brought its share of challenges, but what stands out most is the unwavering strength I see every day—in the young people we support, in our dedicated staff, and in all of you who believe in this mission. There’s something about spring in Colorado that reminds me that transformation is always possible and that new beginnings can emerge when we invest in the right support and opportunities.

At TGTHR, transformation doesn’t happen in isolation—it’s built through collective strength and a shared commitment to ensuring every young person has a safe place to call home. When a young person receives their first set of apartment keys or celebrates a graduation, it’s because we refused to work in silos or accept the status quo. Instead, we came together to create something greater than the sum of our parts.

As we move forward this spring—navigating challenges, embracing opportunities, and deepening our impact—I remain hopeful and energized by what we can accomplish together. I’m excited to share some important updates with you.

Amplifying Youth Voices
At TGTHR, we believe that young voices don’t just matter—they lead the way to meaningful change. EXPRESSIONS: Amplifying Young Voices, our signature spring social event, is an authentic panel conversation featuring remarkable young adults from our programs who will share their journeys, challenges, and triumphs. Their stories aren’t just inspiring—they’re a powerful reminder of why our work matters.  >>INFO & RSVP HERE

Elevating youth voice is a core value at TGTHR, allowing youth empowerment and authentic connection to thrive. We fundamentally believe that those with lived experience must be at the center of our decision-making process. These young voices will ensure our work remains relevant, effective, and truly responsive to the needs of those we serve. When we create spaces where young people can speak their truth, we all grow stronger together.

Expanding Behavioral Health Services
We continue to make significant strides in enhancing our behavioral health offerings. By increasing our clinical staff and implementing evidence-based approaches, we have increased therapeutic care for youth in residential treatment, ensuring therapy is offered several times per week as well as groups for youth in our programs. This progress reflects our unwavering commitment to addressing the whole person—recognizing that stable housing alone isn’t enough without comprehensive mental health support.

Protecting Essential Funding for Our Community
In times of economic fluctuation and policy changes, we remain anchored in what we know works for young people facing housing instability:

  • Safe, affordable housing as the foundation
  • Trauma-informed care and behavioral health services
  • Consistent, supportive relationships with caring adults
  • Educational and employment pathways
  • Community connections that foster belonging

We rely on critical federal funding to sustain our programs, ensuring that our emergency shelter, drop-in resource center, and supportive housing remain available for young people in our community. Currently, over $1 million in annual federal funding makes these programs possible with a significant portion up for renewal this summer.

While we don’t know what the future holds regarding our federal funding, we remain steadfast in our commitment to keeping our programs running and supporting the youth who rely on our services. Without these essential funds, the stability and future of these programs could be at risk. As we advocate for continued support, we invite our community to stand with us—raising awareness, reaching out to decision-makers, and ensuring these vital services remain available.

Expanding Chase House
We are thrilled to share that we are in the process of acquiring a new Chase House—an expansion that will more than double our capacity to serve youth ages 12-18 with acute behavioral health needs who are in the care of the state. As a state-licensed Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP), Chase House provides critical, trauma-informed care, including mental and behavioral health services, life skills development, academic support, and family coaching.

This 9,000-square-foot facility will increase our ability to serve young people, offering comprehensive, trauma-informed programming that includes mental and behavioral health care, life skills development, academic support, and family coaching. We anticipate completing the transition by late summer with minimal disruption to services.

This milestone is only possible through the support of our community. If you’d like to learn more about how you can support this capital campaign, please reach out. We’d love to partner with you in creating lasting change for the young people who need us most.

As we move forward together, I’m reminded that our collective impact is so much greater than what any of us could accomplish alone. Thank you for being part of this community that refuses to accept youth homelessness as inevitable.

With gratitude and hope,
Annie Bacci
